WHAT OUR THERAPY CLIENTS SAY...

  • “I've been lucky enough to experience the difference pre and post fascia release by Kylie.

It's been incredible how much my range of motion has increased post release. Most notably however, I've noticeed how much more compliant my body has become when it comes to activating and having greater control over specific muscles.

Not only is fascia release another fabulous tool to use in the pursuit of becoming a better athlete; I've also found it to be highly complimentary when performed in conjunction with the Pilates services that Kylie offers.

Another benefit is the relief of generalised muscle tightness and discomfort.

For anyone who has struggled to encourage their body to become more compliant - I hightly recommend giving this (Myofascial Release) a go!”

    Addit: One week later;

"Since I made the last comment re fascia release, I've had an incredible experience which I wish to share.

I had surgery on a severely prolapsed disc 5 years ago, which was so bad that I was experiencing Cauda Equina (impingement of the spinal nerves - which is also a medical emergency). Ever since, I've had a decreased range of motion, weakness and pain in my lower back and legs and had come to accept that was just the 'new norm'. Of course, there has been much frustration associated with trying to ride as well as I would like to.... Especially when my body doesn't seem too incluned to accommodate me at times!

Kylie performed a fascia release session in the area surrounding the affected disc earlier this week. She warned me that I might feel rather different in the saddle post treatment but I certainly couldn't imagine HOW different!

After riding six horses that day, ranging from green to PSG - I was astounded to find that I didn't have ANY pain.

Even more astoundingly, my left leg, which is constantly belligerent to my commands - was actually REACTING within the time frame that I was wanting!

I've undergone numerous treatment modalities since my surgery, and hands down, this has been the MOST incredible turnaround that I have ever experienced.

So - THANK YOU Kylie for your knowledge, expertise and persistence... I look forward to working with you for a very long time to come!

  • "I cannot recommend Kylie and her techniques highly enough!!! Since being introduced to Kylie through a strength and straighten clinic organised by my coach, only  a few months ago, my riding has significantly improved.

I had been struggling with a few aspects of my riding for a while, and was just not enjoying it like I wanted to. I regularly received comments from judges/coaches that I was sitting to one side in the saddle. This in turn was affecting both my horses ability and mine to work together, and she was continually trying to counteract my weight offset on the uneven side. We couldn't consistently pick up the correct canter.

Since starting with Kylie, not only has my riding and position improved but so has my horse, and I'm enjoying riding again. This improvement has also been noticed by others with regular comments made, and questions about what we've been doing. We are now coming home from comps with better percentages and usually in the first few places.

Kylie and her techniques have not only belped with my position and straightness in the saddle; the muscle tightness in my hips and legs has improved; I am pain free in my hip after riding now, and I have a better range of leg motion and flexibility, with my stirrup length increasing.

If you've been struggling with parts of your riding, or have been receiving comments from judges/coaches that you are uneven in the saddle; or maybe you're just looking for that competitive edge, I encourage you to add Kylie to your training regimen. You won't regret it.

  • "I decided to come and see Kylie after working long days for the last 41 years, so I decided that it was time to start Pilates.

Kylie then introduced me to Myofascial Release Therapy and I decided to give it a go because I've always suffered with a stiff neck and shouders and arms becoming numb, as well as hips and legs feeling very muscle tight.

After a couple of sessions of MFR, I just felt so much better, stronger and happier because I didn't have the same level of pain in my neck and shoulders.

She has converted me! I am a believer in the work and we are going to continue on and hopefully I'm going to be a lot better than I have ever been!"

WHAT OUR PILATES PARTICIPANTS SAY...

  • “I have gone from my instructor yelling "Bigger canter/trot" to "Keep that canter" or "That's the trot we are after" or "Wow, that horse has an extended trot!". Six weeks ago I would fall in a heap from working so hard to get a correct gait, whereas now we can! I haven't done any additional fitness work during our sessions, so all changes are purely from the exercises prescribed. The biggest difference I found was in my everyday movement. I found my pelvis is more stable and I am activation glute muscles in my right buttock, which is new! My posture has also changed to become more upright with less bottom-sticky-outiness!

I have worked at the gym dooing squats and with physio's doing rehab to fix my SIJ problem and I have NEVER had the positive results, let alone in such a short period that I have achieved with Kylie. The thing that was most surprising was that the exercises were easy and not gut-busting with weights. I don't have the time or energy with my life to have a whole big regime to complete, but I could sneak in a set at the supermarket, on the toilet!, in the shower, watching t.v, cooking dinner.....

The way things were explained was so simple but brilliant to understand. Thank you so much for the opportunity. It really has been fantastic. I will continue to sneak in the exercises throughout the day and would love to follow up in the future”.

  • “When I began the bioanalysis sessions, I had various issues with tightness in my hips, lower back and shoulders. I was so used to being in this position, it felt "normal" to me. Through the practice of the various exercises prescribed, I have noticed considerable improvements, both in the saddle and out. I am much more open through my chest, and the increased mobility in my pelvis has allowed me to develop a deeper, looser seat in the saddle, with an improved sense of balance. I am also guilty of shallow breathing while I ride, so the brathing techniques have also helped a lot with the relaxation of my dody and in turn, that of my horse. My general awareness of my body has improved and overall I am feeling much more free and open in my whole posture.”
